LICH is fortunate to collaborate with wonderful women’s groups throughout Long Island. So far in 2025, we have received fantastic support from the following organizations:
Women’s Group of the Greens
To begin the new year, LICH received a generous gift from the Women’s Group of the Greens (from the Greens of Half Hollow), a philanthropic organization of women that raises money for various charitable causes. This gift has helped us sustain our pantry, and it couldn’t have come at a better time—nonperishable food requests have nearly doubled in the last year. Our pantry volunteers work closely with LICH staff to combat food insecurity throughout our Long Island communities.

Nassau County Homemakers
In February, the Nassau County Homemakers created nearly 150 new house-warming baskets for households that are moving into housing after exiting homelessness. The baskets were beautifully and thoughtfully assembled by this amazing group of women and included items household and essential items like new bedding, cleaning products, and paper products. We are grateful to this talented, dedicated, and community-minded group of amazing women!

WIFS – LI and WCOE Metro New York
LICH is excited to work with these two incredible groups of women! Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS) operates to attract, develop, and advance women in the insurance and financial services industry. Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE) provides business connections, education, and advocacy for issues impacting our industry, particularly those involving small and women-owned businesses. We are grateful for the incredible support we received from these groups for our 1st annual 5K, Milo's Run for the Homeless!

Valley Bank Women in Business
Valley Bank’s Women in Business (WIB) program empowers women business leaders and women-owned businesses, driving economic growth. The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless is proud to work with Valley Bank’s women leaders and grateful for all they do for us through volunteerism and program support!

PEO International
Our director and CEO, Greta Guarton, was honored to attend the P.E.O. Long Island Reciprocity luncheon this past April to speak about homelessness and how our communities come together to help. We are amazed by P.E.O.'s contributions to women's education through scholarships, grants, and loans and grateful for their essential undergarment donation and support of LICH.
