b.j spoke gallery presents HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. An art inspired fundraiser to benefit The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless from December 1, 2021 - January 2, 2022. All works of art will be priced at $1000 and under. b.j. spoke will donate 35% of all proceeds made to LICH.
JOIN US at the KICK OFF RECEPTION on Saturday, December 4th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Enjoy a night of live jazz music, art, and refreshments. Meet the b.j. spoke artists. Take home an original work of art created by our gallery artists. Our artists work in a variety of styles and media, including; abstract, representational, surreal, digital illustration, steel sculpture, photography, giclee prints, and handmade jewelry. Guest Speaker 7:00pm - Greta Guarton, Executive Director of The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless will give a brief talk about their mission and services.
Live Jazz by Joe Cupani & Shawn Lovato - Cupani is a jazz guitarist, an artist and aspiring actor. “Painting, music, acting, it’s all the same. Art is art.” Shawn Lovato plays the upright bass. Lovato is a jazz composer and musician. Graduate of NYU music school. Shawn is both a player and educator of the jazz idiom. Joe and Shawn have played together for many years.

Each year, LICH holds our "Have a Heart for the Homeless" Candlelight Vigil for the Homeless to raise awareness about the homeless and the great need for affordable housing in our region.

Backpack Pirates is an annual event where over 425 homeless and at-risk children are invited to spend a day at summer camp. Activities include sports, field games, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, a theater show, swimming at the beach, archery, DJ and dancing, and much more. Please join as a camp counselor, athlete, artist, ocean certified lifeguard, timekeepers, set up and clean up help, and even more importantly- a friend, teammate, and part of amazing memories.
Each year the Coalition brings together professionals from all of Long Island and NY State to educate each other about current issues facing the homeless. CEU Credits are available for those interested in the workshops. Previous year themes include youth & family homelessness, housing first, serving veterans, and much more!
