Share the Knowledge
During street outreach we provide on the street services to Long Island's neighbors in need. Our trained teams provide crisis intervention and referrals. We give out kits with clothes, non-perishable foods, blankets and toiletries.
We build relationships and create a trust between our team and a person in need.
Outreach is not just working with individuals who are homeless. We work to create awareness through education and building connections in the community. A dedicated team of outreach workers go to local businesses to connect with business owners and provide information.

Community Awareness and Education
Volunteers are needed to distribute resources and materials at community events and fairs. We will provide you with our brochures and flyers, but we need your energy and enthusiasm to share our work. Volunteers who have worked in our Boutique or have participated in our other events are strongly encouraged to apply for this opportunity.
Our community relationships with local business owners, civic associations, faith-based organizations etc. are essential in reaching our mission of ending homelessness on Long Island. We need volunteers to help provide resources and develop partnerships that awareness for our neighbors in need and build connections to the community which serve as important resources for our work.
Long Island has limited resources and community support for the various sub populations of homeless who are not eligible for DSS emergency housing. Team members build relationships with organizations, churches, and groups that can provide service for the most vulnerable and overlooked populations.
